Whoo-hoo! Someone Thinks I'm Kreativ!

While checking out my long list of wedding blogs this morning, I noticed that Crystal from My Carmel Wedding honored me with the Kreativ Blogger Award that's being passed around a lot of awesome wedding blogs!

{Source}

I feel so honored to have received this award, since so many great blogs have already received it! Upon receiving the award, you are supposed to post 7 random facts about yourself, and then pass the award on to 7 other creative bloggers.

So here goes, 7 random facts about myself:

1) I'm a super lazy housekeeper. Seriously, I HATE cleaning, and combined with 3 kitties and lots of wedding clutter, our house is usually pretty messy. I'm sure you've seen all the crap around the house in the backgrounds of some pics I've already posted:

Luckily The Mr. and I have lived together longer than we've been dating and so we have similar cleanliness preferences. We mainly clean when we have people over, so perhaps we should have more parties as an excuse to clean more!

2) I'm a computer addict. I live on e-mail (and even have the Google phone, so I can get my e-mail any time of day), PhotoShop everything (if you've been reading my blog, you already knew that), and I have a deep, deep love for Excel. Budgets, formulas, charts, I love it all. I even do trainings at my work on Excel best practices and shortcuts. This probably all comes from the fact that I've had my own PC since I was in 3rd grade. My parents were early adopters, and by the time I was about 8 they were on their second computer and let me have their old one in my room. It only had Typing Tutor and Tom Sawyer's Island on it, but I've been addicted ever since.

3) Don't tell my kitties this, but I'm really more of a dog person. I'd love to get a Goldendoodle or a daschund one day, but with the long hours that The Mr. and I work, combined with my hour and a half of commuting each day, cats are much easier pets. Plus, you can set them up with their 10-pound food dispenser and lots of water and they're fine to be left by themselves while we go on vacation. My kitties are so cute, but just not as cooperative or friendly as dogs.

4) I have over 350 pairs of shoes. Actually, it might be closer to 375 pairs, since I've been stockpiling wedding and wedding event shoes. It's a problem, but at least they're mostly contained in the 3rd bedroom of our house, which I've turned into my walk-in-closet-bedroom. When I clean the "closet" I like to line up all the shoes in rows from wall to wall, group them by type, and The Mr. says it scares him because it looks like a shoe army about to march.

5) I don't really like sweets. Candy, cake, pie; I don't ever seek them out. I used to like sweets when I was little, but now I'm much more into salty and garlicky. Garlic is actually my favorite food! Pretty much anything that's garlicky I'll like, except the garlic wine from the Stinking Rose. The tagline on the menu is "We love garlic, but this wine stinks." And it really does! But I'll drink any other kind of wine with my garlic....

6) I'm an online shopper. Most things for the wedding so far have been purchased online, except stuff I need from the craft store. When we went to the store in the mall last weekend looking at dresses, I thought to myself, "Gee, it's probably been 2 years since I've been in a mall!" Victoria's Secret is my favorite online store for clothes, and ebay, Endless, 6pm, Zappos, etc for shoes. I just have no patience anymore for looking through racks of clothes for the right size, when online you can just type it in the search box and find whatever you might need.

7) I don't care if The Mr. doesn't listen when I talk most of the time. No, really, I'm not kidding! We kind of have a deal worked out where I can talk AT him about wedding stuff as much as I want, and he can just tune me out, without me getting mad. This is mostly because I work with and have mainly guys as friends who I hang out with, so I don't get to talk about the wedding much in my day to day life. If I ever do want him to listen or answer a question, I just say "Hey, listen!" and he does, so it works out nicely. And since I started blogging he's had to hear less about color schemes and the merits of edible favors, as I now have an outlet for my wedding-related verbal diarrhea.

Well, there you go, 7 random facts about me!

And now, here are the wedding blogs I'm passing the award on to. I've chosen ones who I don't think have been honored yet, because I think everyone has something great to share, and maybe this will spark interest in some new blogs you haven't seen yet!

In no particular order:
1) A Creative Bride
2) Joy is the Best Makeup
3) The Perpetual Party Planner
4) Tying The Knot
5) Planning Bliss
6) Un-Bridaled
7) Bustables

And a couple honorable mentions, since these aren't wedding blogs, but still in my favs list:
1) Merge - an old friend with a strong writing style's blog about anything and everything (and she's engaged, so I'm hoping she'll start posting wedding topics soon!)
2) The Experts Agree - Etsy eye candy finds and interesting typesets and fonts
3) Dan, Amanda and Alex - Cutest baby blog out there, but I'm not including the link yet in case Amanda doesn't want anyone and everyone to see!
